Paul founded the Warbird Heritage Foundation in 2003 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to restoring and flying vintage warbirds. After retiring from a successful business career in 2006 he now spends full time on the activities of the Foundation. Currently the Foundation owns and operates a Stearman, an L-19 Birddog, an AT-6Texan, a T-28 Trojan, an L-39 Albatross, an F-86 Sabre, a T-2 Buckeye and its latest addition, an A-4B Skyhawk.
Paul holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with multiengine and single engine land and instrument ratings. He has over 3,500 hours of total flight time including over 600 hours in military type jets. He holds type ratings in the CE 525, KingAir, T-28, L-39, F-86 and T-2. Paul also maintains a Level 3 aerobatic competency certificate and performs at airshows around the Midwest. In addition to individual performances Paul also flies with The Hoppers, a precision 4-ship jet formation demonstration team flying the L-39 Albatross.
Paul also flies a Citation CJ1 for the Veterans Airlift Command, an organization which flies wounded Iraq War soldiers and there families to and from home and military hospitals for convalescent visits.
